Get the Look

If you’re anything like me, you’re scrambling to finish your holiday shopping and might have a couple more last minute holiday parties popping up! During this time of year, I often find myself struggling to find a holiday outfit that’s unique but also something I can get multiple wears out of. I do absolutely adore velvet and sequins but they’re not exactly practical beyond the holiday season. While cherry print isn’t your typical holiday pattern, I love any opportunity to put a whimsical spin on the classics. And who wants to be like everyone else anyways?

By adding a red lip and a chunky sparkling necklace, this simple cherry print dress is transformed into a holiday party appropriate look. What’s fabulous about a dress like this, is that it can be worn through the Spring and into the Summer. I can’t wait to style it again for the Fourth of July or a berry picking day with my honey.

If you live somewhere that gets super cold and are looking for a warmer option, simply layer a pair of black tights underneath. You can also wrap a faux fur stole or scarf around your neck to give the look even more holiday vibes! Be careful, though, with the addition of a scarf if you’re a bustier babe like me; sometimes it can add bulk.

Finally, grab a pair of over the knee boots in black. Mine have a short heel since I’m 6 foot tall, but a taller heeled or completely flat version would work just fine too.

BOOT BUYING TIP: Because I’m so tall and I work out regularly, I’ve always fallen in between in the boot department. I can wear a boot with a “regular” calf width but they’re always a little tighter than I’d like. Recently, I started buying boots with a “wide” calf and it has been a total game changer for me! So much more comfortable and a lot more flattering. Highly recommend keeping this in mind if you are in between like me or happen to encounter a pair of boots that’s just too tight!
